The Town of Barnstable is currently updating its Open Space and Recreation Plan (OSRP) which is a tool through which a community plans for the future of its conservation and recreation resources.

The Draft Open Space and Recreation Plan is currently available for review and comment. The Plan can be downloaded from the project website accessible from the Town’s website, Planning & Development Department webpage listed under “Current Projects” as “Open Space and Recreation Plan Update” or by clicking HERE. Hard copies of the draft Plan are also available at each of the Town’s libraries as well as the Planning & Development office located at Town Hall.

The public comment period is open through Wednesday, November 26th. Comments can be submitted by email to Kyle Pedicini at kyle.pedicini@town.barnstable.ma.us or dropped off or mailed to Town Hall 367 Main Street Hyannis, MA 02601 Attention Planning & Development. Comments will be distributed to the Open Space Committee and the Recreation Commission for review and consideration.

A community meeting will be held on Wednesday November 19th at 6:00 PM in person at Town Hall addressed 367 Main Street, Hyannis within the Hearing Room located on the 2nd floor. The objective of the meeting is to provide an overview of the draft Open Space and Recreation Plan and to obtain public comment as the Town progresses towards finalizing the Plan. Live Portuguese and Spanish interpretation will be available.
