Overnight Road Closure on Route 28, Centerville-UPDATE
The Town of Barnstable’s contractor, C.C. Construction, Inc., continues sewer construction along Route 28 as part of the Centerville Village Sewer Expansion Project – North Phase on Monday, March 16, 2026.
To facilitate this work, Route 28, from Phinney’s Lane to Old Stage Road, will be closed during the hours of 7:00PM to 6:00AM, Monday through Thursday evenings. The road will reopen and resume normal traffic patterns at 6:00AM.
Residential and emergency access will be maintained throughout construction. Local businesses will remain open during their normal operating hours.
For the week of April 13, 2026, access to all properties in Bell Tower Mall should be made through the Casual Gourmet entrance on Richardson Road. Work on Route 28 will be at the entrance of Bell Tower Mall and will not be passable.
Traffic control personnel will be on site to guide motorists safely through the construction zone. Motorists are urged to reduce speed, use caution, and follow all safety and detour signage when traveling through the work area.
