UPDATED: Fall 2025 Public Roads Improvement Program Continues

The Town of Barnstable has commenced its seasonal Public Roads Improvement Program. Throughout the course of the project work is scheduled to take place on the below identified roadways.

To help residents plan accordingly, each week we will bold and note the roadways that are anticipated to be actively under construction:

· Eel River Road, Osterville

· Fresh Holes Road, Hyannis*

· Hinckley Road, Hyannis*

· Hiramar Road, Hyannis*

· Walton Avenue, Hyannis*

· Turtleback Road, Marstons Mills

· Tupelo Road, Marstons Mills

· Whitmar Road, Marstons Mills

· Asa Meigs Road, Marstons Mills

· Old Mill Road, Marstons Mills**

· School Street, Marstons Mills**

 

Paving* (Work anticipated to be complete Friday, 11/14/25 but may extend into Monday, 11/17/2025).

 

Drainage**

 

Please note: On-street parking will be prohibited during certain construction activities. The project team, assisted by traffic control, will perform additional door-to-door outreach as work progresses. Please review door hangers and follow posted construction signage.

 

Work will occur Monday through Friday, from 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM, weather dependent. Construction activity will occur in various phases including milling of the roadways, structure adjustments, paving, and landscaping restoration as needed. As noted above, drainage improvements are also anticipated in some areas.

Throughout construction local residential, business, and emergency access will be maintained. Adjustments to traffic flow and temporary detours may be necessary to safely complete portions of the work. Traffic control will be available to assist in directing motorists as needed.
