Beginning Wednesday, September 17, 2025, a contractor for the Massachusetts Department of Transportation (MassDOT) will resume in-road sewer work along Bearse’s Way as part of the Bearse’s Way Shared Use Path Project.
To facilitate this work, a portion of Bearse’s Way, between Enterprise Road and Pitchers Way, will be closed to thru traffic during construction hours, daily, from 7:00 AM-4:00 PM. After 4:00 PM the road will be open to all traffic. This closure is anticipated to be in effect through the end of October 2025.
Throughout active construction, access to businesses and residences will be maintained. Dependent on the location of the active work zone, it may be necessary to access properties along Bearse’s Way from alternate directions. Traffic control personnel will be onsite to assist motorists.

As always, please slow down and use extreme caution when traveling through the road construction areas and follow posted safety and detour signs. Even after roads are reopened, surfaces may be temporarily uneven or unfinished until work is complete.
