The Town of Barnstable’s contractor, Robert B. Our Co. Inc., has been approved, to continue work on the Route 28 West Sewer Expansion Project through the summer.
Construction is planned to continue on local roads only, beginning with Marion Way and progressing onto Oldham Road.
To help residents in the area plan a letter was distributed with the following information:
- Construction will occur Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Traffic control personnel and detour signage will be in place to safely guide local traffic within identified road closure(s). Traffic management is coordinated with the Barnstable Police Department, fire and emergency services, the United States Postal Services, and the Barnstable Public Schools.
- Work will Pause for Federal Holidays. This includes a period before and after each holiday, as follows:
- Memorial Day: No work will occur from Friday, May 22 to Tuesday, May 26
- Juneteenth: No work will occur on Friday, June 19
- Independence Day: No work will occur from Friday, July 3 to Tuesday, July 7
- Labor Day: No work will occur from Friday, September 4 to Tuesday, September 8
- Resident and Emergency Access will be Maintained. Depending on crew location, you may need to use alternate routes when navigating to and from your property during work hours.

- Stay up-to-date with traffic impacts. In addition to direct communications, we utilize a variety of other outlets to communicate traffic impacts. These outlets are listed on the reverse of this letter. Additional communications will follow as construction approaches your property.
