A contractor for the Town Of Barnstable’s Department of Public Works, VHB, is expected to perform survey work on Route 132 beginning Tuesday, September 16, 2025.

To facilitate this work, the survey crew will travel along a portion of Route 132, from Bearse’s Way to the Airport Rotary. The survey crew will be followed by traffic control personnel as they move along Route 132. This work will occur during construction hours, Tuesday 9/16-Friday 9/19, 7:00 AM-3:30 PM and Monday 9/22-Thursday 9/25, 7:00 AM-3:30 PM.

Throughout active construction, access to businesses and residences will be maintained. Dependent on the location of the active work zone, it may be necessary to access properties along Route 132 from alternate directions. Traffic control personnel will be onsite to assist motorists.

As always, please slow down and use extreme caution when traveling through the road construction areas and follow posted safety and detour signs. Even after roads are reopened, surfaces may be temporarily uneven or unfinished until work is complete.

This survey work is necessary, as part of the Route 132 Improvements Project, which aims to design and construct improved pedestrian accommodations and enhance intersection safety.
