Beginning Monday, August 31, through Tuesday, September 1, 2026, a contractor working for the Town of Barnstable Department of Public Works is scheduled to perform soil borings along West main Street (Hyannis), between Old Strawberry Hill Road and Dunn’s Pond Road.
As a result, traffic modifications such as temporary lane closures with single-lane alternating traffic, or temporary lane narrowing, may be necessary. Work will take place from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM each day, weather permitting. The intersection will remain open and traffic control personnel will be onsite to assist motorists.
These efforts will serve the West Main Street and Pine Street Intersection Improvement Project, which is anticipated to begin construction later this fall.
