Town Hall Remains Open During Construction Activity
Temporary Access and Parking Adjustments Began May 18th
On Monday, May 18, 2026, construction activity related to the Town Hall Coal Bin Project began on the Barnstable Town Hall Campus, located at 367 Main Street, Hyannis. Work is expected to be on-going, though mid-December 2026.
As part of this work, temporary parking restrictions and access changes will be in place along the South Street side of Town Hall for the duration of construction. The side parking area nearest South Street, which includes approximately eight parking spaces, will be closed and incorporated into the construction zone. The access drive connecting to that side lot will also be closed.
Town Hall will remain open and accessible throughout the project, additionally:
- ADA-accessible parking spaces are located on the east side of the building near the artist sheds.
- Pedestrian access will continue to be available from the main parking lot, along South Street sidewalks, and via the east side of the building
- Exterior drop boxes, including those for the Town Clerk and Procurement offices, will remain accessible during construction.
Additional future construction is anticipated as part of related facilities improvements and will be communicated separately. For questions, please contact the Department of Public Works at: 508-790-6400.
