Downtown Hyannis Main Street Live Music and Community Fun
Get ready for a full day of festive fun across Barnstable! Kick off the morning with FOUR traditional village parades in Barnstable-West Barnstable, Centerville, Cotuit, and Hyannis Port — plus road races and a boat parade to keep the patriotic spirit sailing strong! Then, head to Downtown Hyannis for a vibrant afternoon celebration featuring live music, street performances, family fun, and more — all starting and ending at Hyannis Harbor.

BARNSTABLE-WEST BARNSTABLE — Patriotic themed floats will parade through Barnstable Village with youth activities afterward at the Hollow playground area. Presented by Barnstable Village Civic Association and the West Barnstable Civic Association. |

CENTERVILLE BIKE PARADE — Kids and parade participants assemble at the Centerville Elementary School (658 Bay Lane) starting at 9:00 AM. After raising the flag, reciting the pledge of allegiance, and singing “America the Beautiful”, a Centerville-Osterville-Marstons Mills Fire Truck and the Scout Troop 54 Color Guard lead those walking, riding decorated bicycles, pulling floats and pushing strollers to proceed onto Bumps River Road, Park Avenue, and onto Main Street, ending at the Centerville Recreation Building rear parking lot. Once there, Parade participants will be served hot dogs, ice cream, cotton candy and water; meet summer league baseball players; enjoy face painting; and showered with candy from the “candy cannon”. Awards are given for Best Decorated. Presented by the Centerville Civic Association. |

COTUIT — The Parade begins on School Street, with some walkers and fire vehicles lining up on High Street. The parade proceeds down School Street and turns left onto Main Street before continuing down Main Street to the old Cotuit Elementary School property. The termination point is the public field behind the school building. Presented by the Cotuit Civic Association. |

HYANNIS PORT — The traditional fun run starts at the Hyannis Port Post Office on Longwood Avenue at 9:00 AM followed by the parade at 11:00 AM beginning at the same location; proceeding to Washington, Lafayette, Winchester, Scudder, Dale, ending at the West Beach Club. Presented by the West Beach Club. |
DOWNTOWN HYANNIS 4TH OF JULY CELEBRATION: 3:00 PM – 9:00 PM
HYANNIS HARBOR BOAT PARADE 3:00 PM
The Cape Cod Maritime Museum, Hyannis Marina, and the Hyannis Yacht Club present Cape Cod’s Own Original 4th of July Boat Parade. This year, boaters who register in advance will be eligible to win prizes in their vessels size category (over and under 30’) and will receive a commemorative entry number. Judging will take place from the Hyannis Marina dock during the parade. Boats will assemble off Hyannis Yacht Club and head to the inner harbor to show off their red, white and blue at approximately 3:00 PM before circling the inner harbor to show off their civic pride for the many hundreds of spectators that gather along the waterfront at Bismore Park and Gateway Marina. The stage at Aselton Park is where the festival begins and ends! Power packed with a patriotic theme and live musical talent throughout the evening, the experience is sure to make memories that will last a lifetime. Space is available for food trucks to operate. VILLAGE GREEN 4:30 – 7:00 PM
Families always look forward to free rides on the Roaming Railway around the brick path along the Walkway-to-the-Sea through the Village Green & Harbor Overlook. There will be live music on the bandstand and a community setting for picnics and lawn games, with special greetings from the Greater Hyannis Chamber of Commerce. MILE LONG MAIN STREET 5:00 – 9:00 PM
Take a stroll and enjoy the live music, magic and festive fun at each block along the way, from Ocean to Sea Street. The Cape Cod Ukulele Club will delight onlookers in the Courtyard in front of the John F. Kennedy Hyannis Museum until 7:00 PM. Musicians with their own sound, from jazz to blues and beyond, plus DJs and other performers will pop-up on corners and storefronts on every block. HYANNIS HYARTS CAMPUS
Visit all the sites around the Hyannis HyArts Campus community throughout the day and join in the Party on Pearl Street! Make a keepsake hat and pennant, contribute to the sidewalk chalk art and see what the artists are working on this summer. The Cape Cod Toy Library offers a space for the family to enjoy a magic show in the Outdoor Play Oasis next to the Hyannis Public Library at 5:00 PM.
PARKING & TRANSPORTATION
There are several municipal lots in downtown Hyannis where free parking is available for up to six hours. For a map with locations visit: https://www.townofbarnstable.us/departments/parkingdivision/Locations/parkandwalk.pdf.
Cape Cod Regional Transit Authority (CCRTA) has hourly parking available (after the first 30 minutes free) at the Hyannis Transportation Center. Long-term parking is also available for daily rates.
