The Town of Barnstable will be replacing the elevator at Barnstable Town Hall beginning on Tuesday, September 8, 2026 through the end of December (timeline subject to change). During this time, the elevator will be taken out of service.
Access to Town Hall
A greeter office will be opened and staffed on the ground floor of Town Hall across from the Parking Management office to assist the general public and visitors seeking service by entering Town Hall from the accessible entrance.
The first-floor greeter space will be re-opened and staffed to provide service and support to individuals entering Town Hall from the first-floor entrance.
Staff located in each of these spaces will act as a service liaison to individuals seeking service with departments/divisions located in Town Hall. While temporary localized detours or service window relocations may occur, all municipal departments will remain operational during normal business hours.
Guidance for public meetings being held during the replacement.
Town Council Meetings will continue to meet in person with a Zoom remote participation option for public comment and public hearings. At this time, all other town boards, committees, and commissions will meet remotely via Zoom.
