A Full Day of Cape Cod Tradition
Culminates in a Spectacular Drone Light Show
(FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – June 24, 2026) On July 4, 2026, residents and visitors are invited to celebrate America’s 250th Birthday in Hyannis with a full day of family-friendly activities, live entertainment, maritime traditions, and community gatherings—culminating in a breathtaking drone light show.
The celebration begins with the beloved Hyannis Harbor Boat Parade at approximately
2:30 PM, presented by the Cape Cod Maritime Museum, Hyannis Marina, and the Hyannis Yacht Club. Decorated vessels will cruise through the inner harbor in a colorful display of civic pride and patriotism, delighting spectators gathered along Bismore Park and the waterfront.
Throughout the afternoon and evening, families can enjoy free activities on the Hyannis Village Green, while Main Street comes alive with live music, performers, local businesses, and interactive experiences stretching from Ocean Street to Sea Street. Visitors can explore downtown, enjoy local dining and shopping, and experience the festive atmosphere that has made Hyannis a Cape Cod destination for generations.
At Aselton Park, live entertainment will fill the park from 4:00 PM to approximately 8:30 PM, featuring performances by Get Shocked!, Chowdaheads, Howlin’ Clams featuring Trent Burritt, and Super Soulshine. The evening’s music celebrates the diverse talent and vibrant cultural spirit of Cape Cod while creating the perfect backdrop for the waterfront festivities.
Baseball fans can also enjoy a classic summer tradition as the Hyannis Harbor Hawks take on the Yarmouth-Dennis Red Sox at McKeon Park beginning at 5:00 PM.
The Main Event: A Cape Cod Story in the Sky
As anticipation builds throughout the day, the evening culminates with a state-of-the-art Drone Light Show launching at approximately 9:15 PM and continuing through 9:30 PM. CapeCod’s X Radio: 106.5 & 102.3 will be onsite from 8:30 to 9:30 PM with a SPECTACULAR DRONE SHOW PLAYLIST and CELEBRATORY ENERGY!
Featuring hundreds of synchronized drones, the show will present approximately 22 illuminated aerial images that tell the story of Cape Cod—from its Indigenous heritage and maritime traditions to its iconic landscapes, fishing industry, conservation legacy, and enduring role in the American story. Audiences will witness beloved Cape Cod imagery dance to life in the night sky, including symbols of exploration, working waterfronts, lighthouses, wildlife, baseball, and community traditions that have defined the region for generations.
Notes on Parking & Traffic
Please note that several streets in the Hyannis Harbor area will be temporarily closed from
8:15 PM to 10:15 PM to accommodate the Drone Light Show and ensure public safety.
Closures will include:
- Old Colony Road from South Street to Bay Street
- Ocean Street from South Street to Bay Street
- Ocean Street from Main Street to South Street
- South Street from High School Road to Ocean Street
NOTE: High School Road will remain open between McKeon Park and Main Street, allowing access to and from the Hyannis Harbor Hawks game.

Visitors are encouraged to arrive early and take advantage of ample parking available at the Hyannis Youth & Community Center and Riverview Friends at the Emerald Resort, both of which are served by convenient CCRTA trolley stops providing direct access to the celebration.
The CCRTA trolley offers an easy and affordable transportation option, with a rider fee of $1.00 per person, helping reduce downtown congestion while making it easy to enjoy the festivities and Drone Light Show.
