🚧 CONSTRUCTION ADVISORY 🚧

The Town of Barnstable Department of Public Works, in conjunction with the Town of Barnstable Community Services Department, will be removing the large wooden play structure at the Centerville Playground on Saturday, August 19 through Sunday, August 20, 2023.

In order to safely complete this work the playground and the Centerville Recreation Building’s front and back parking lots will be temporarily closed. The work zone will be fenced and barricaded, remaining off limits to pedestrian access. Upon removal of the structure the playground will receive upwards of 60 yards of playground surfacing (clean wood chips) to provide a safe environment for play.

All standalone items will remain, including:
🔹 Crawl Tubes
🔹 (2) Slides
🔹 (2) Swing Sets
🔹 Funnel Ball
🔹 Xylophone

Over the last two years, the Department of Public Works, Community Services Department, and the Centerville Playground Committee, have hosted a series of public information meetings and have accepted public comment throughout the Centerville Playground design process. These meetings can be viewed at: https://youtu.be/He8FNIR3JfQ

Construction of the new playground is anticipated to commence Spring 2024.
