‘Great Barnstable Cleanup’

The Great Barnstable Cleanup is a community cleanup with the goal of making Barnstable a cleaner place to live or visit. This event is part of a town improvement initiative led by Keep Massachusetts Beautiful, Pick Up Mass, and co-hosted by the Cape Cod Package Store Fine Wine and Spirits. We invite you to join us for our Fall clean up and get some fresh air, too!
Volunteers will meet at the Barnstable High School Parking Lot, next to the Daily Paper at 744 W Main St in Hyannis, MA. You can check in and pick up your clean up supplies including; gloves, trash grabbers, safety vests and bags, before you head out on a suggested cleanup route. Please register in advance to participate in the cleanup so we can be sure to have enough supplies on hand for everyone.
“Keep Massachusetts Beautiful and Pick Up Massachusetts are encouraged and energized by the robust community interest that we’ve seen from Cape Cod residents to pitch in and make sure that our towns are clean, litter-free places to live and visit,” said Neil Rhein, executive director of Keep Massachusetts Beautiful.
All volunteers are asked to observe the following safety guidelines;
● Wear rubber-lined gloves and sanitize hands immediately upon completing your cleanup
● Use a trash grabber tool to collect all litter at all times.
● Wear brightly colored clothing and clean up in the direction of oncoming traffic and avoid stepping into the street.
