Route 28 Sewer Expansion Project – Work Resumes Wednesday, October 11, 2023
Starting today, Friday, October 6, 2023, sewer installation along Route 28 will observe a five-day holiday break.
Sewer installation will resume within the Route 28 roadway on Wednesday, October 11, 2023, during the hours of 8:15AM to 5:30PM, weather permitting.
Resuming on Wednesday, October 11, 2023, a single-direction detour of eastbound traffic will be necessary to safely accommodate sewer construction progression along Route 28. The MassDOT-approved eastbound traffic detour will utilize West Main Street and Pitcher’s Way to navigate motorists around the active work zone. In this proposed set-up, westbound traffic on Route 28 is maintained.
Businesses on Route 28 will remain accessible throughout all phases of construction via posted detours along with assistance from traffic control.
Motorists should expect delays. As always, please slow down and use extreme caution when traveling through the road construction areas and follow posted safety and detour signs.
