UPDATE:

Work will be paused for the Christmas holiday from December 23-25, 2024 and will resume on December 26, 2024.

 

Continuing the week of December 23, 2024, a contractor for the Town of Barnstable and MassDOT, CC Construction, is scheduled to conduct sewer installation as part of the Bearse’s Way Shared Use Path Project. Work will occur along the west side of Bearse’s Way between Route 28 and Pitcher’s Way in Hyannis, from 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM. This phase of the project is expected to be completed by Spring 2025, weather permitting.

 

To facilitate this work, a one-lane alternating traffic pattern or single-lane closure will be implemented at times, depending on the area of work. Traffic control personnel will be onsite to assist motorists. All other work is expected to occur outside of the roadway with construction vehicles and equipment occasionally entering and exiting the road shoulder.

 

As always, please slow down and use extreme caution when traveling through the road construction areas and follow posted safety and detour signs.

Starting the week of September 16, 2024, a contractor for the Town of Barnstable and MassDOT, will commence necessary tree clearing and trimming as part of the Bearse’s Way Shared Use Path Project. Work will along the west side of Bearse’s Way between Route 28 and Pitcher’s Way in Hyannis from approximately 7:00 AM to 3:30PM. This work is expected to be outside of the roadway, located off-road; however, there will be numerous construction vehicles and equipment entering and exiting the road shoulder at times.

 

Traffic control will be available onsite to assist in directing motorists as needed.
