Beginning on Tuesday, March 28, 2023, the Town of Barnstable Department of Public Works (DPW) will begin performing drainage improvements on Hyannis-Barnstable Road, on the south side of the intersection with Route 6A. The improvements include modifications to existing drainage systems and installation of additional new leaching structures. As a result, localized traffic will be reduced to a single-lane alternating, in the area shown in the Drainage Figure, below.
These drainage modifications will improve the stormwater collection system in this area. Work is expected to be completed within one week, weather permitting.
Police details will be available to assist in directing traffic. As always, please slow down and use extreme caution when traveling through the road construction areas, and follow posted safety and detour signs.
