Earth Day Village Clean Up
8:30 AM – 12:00 Noon.
Each year villagers meet at the West Barnstable Community Building to celebrate Earth Day by picking up litter of all kinds from their neighborhoods and beyond.
The Great Barnstable Cleanup is a litter collection event with the goal of making Barnstable an even more beautiful place to live or visit. Part of a town improvement initiative led by Keep Massachusetts Beautiful, Pick Up Mass, and co-hosted by the Cape Cod Package Store Fine Wine and Spirits, volunteers will get some fresh air while assisting us with a thorough spring cleaning. It’s a great opportunity to ensure the community is litter-free before summer arrives!
Volunteers will meet at the Barnstable High School Parking Lot, 744 W Main St in Hyannis, MA. Clean up supplies including; gloves, trash grabbers and safety vests and bags will be provided to all volunteers by on-site organizers, before you continue on to an assigned cleanup area. The cleanup is scheduled to run until 3 p.m.
Please register in advance to participate in the cleanup so we can have enough supplies on hand for everyone.
