(Barnstable, MA – October 24, 2022) Starting Tuesday, October 25, 2022 to Spring 2023, Monday- Friday from 7:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Phinney’s Lane will be closed to through traffic from Route 28/ Falmouth Road to Old Strawberry Hill Road and will maintain one lane alternating traffic from Old Strawberry Hill Road to Route 132/Iyannough Road to facilitate necessary sewer and water work on Phinney’s Lane.
Figure 1 shows the overall work locations and travel routes through the corridor. Weekly construction updates showing specific crew locations are posted at https://barnstablewaterresources.com/construction-updates/ to help you better plan your travel route. In addition, portions of Strawberry Hill Road from West Main Street to Craigville Beach Road will remain closed to through traffic during the same timeframe.
The intersections of Strawberry Hill Road with Pine Street and Old Craigville Road will remain open for travel unless noted in future updates. The closures are necessary due to work associated with the Vineyard Wind’s duct bank installation and associated water main relocation. Formal road closure and posted detours will be in place. All closed roadways will remain accessible to residents and businesses throughout construction. As always, please slow down and use extreme caution when traveling through the road construction areas, and follow posted safety and detour signs.
