The Town of Barnstable is pleased to announce that it has awarded an additional $132,827 in Opioid Abatement Funds to the following organizations:
Duffy Health Center $50,000
Stephanie Wroten, CEO; Daniel Rodrigues, Director of Substance Use Disorder and Outreach Programs; Jane Kokernak, Senior Grants Officer
to support Basic Needs and Multiple Pathways programs.
Sharing Kindness $37,587
Dr. Kim Mead-Walters, Executive Director
to support Virtual Family Groups and School Grief Groups programs.
WellStrong $45,240
Alicia Conlin, CEO, and Gioia Persuitte, Development Director
to support Peer Support Navigator (PSN) program that will serve individuals in recovery from substance use disorder using evidence-based peer support services.
The checks were distributed at the February 27, 2025 Barnstable Town Council Meeting.
In November, the Town provided an opportunity for organizations to apply for matching grants through the RIZE Massachusetts Foundatin Those recipients, who each received $50,000, were invited to provide an update to the Town at the same meeting.

to support their Overdose Awareness, Prevention and NARCAN Response Outreach Program, aimed at harm reduction services.

Patrick Downey, Board President, and Amanda Jacob, Co-Founder and Treasurer
to support their Empowering Recovery Program, aimed at recovery services.
Parents Supporting Parents
Charles T. Passios, Treasurer, and Pat Dutra, Board Member
to support their Sober Living Scholarship Program and Support, aimed at prevention, treatment, and recovery services.
NEXT ROUND OF FUNDING AVAILABILITY
The Town of Barnstable is pleased to announce the availability of Opioid Abatement Funds to support local initiatives that aim to make a positive impact on the community. Town of Barnstable based projects will be considered for grant awards from $1,000 up to $10,000. Projects must serve residents of the Town of Barnstable and deliver services in the areas of substance use prevention/education, harm reduction, treatment services, or recovery supports.
