Starting Monday, September 23, 2024, the Town of Barnstable is scheduled to commence off-road work along Main Street, Hyannis as part of its Trip Hazards Project. Construction will take place on Main Street, between Center Street and Stevens Street, and will include reconstruction and resetting of cement concrete panels, brick sidewalk, electrical pull boxes, tree grates, and installation of granite curbing. While the majority of work will take place outside of the roadway, at times, temporary lane closures may be required to provide an adequate and safe work zone.

Work will occur Monday through Friday, from approximately 7:00AM to 3:30PM. Construction is anticipated to take four weeks to complete, weather permitting. Throughout work access to residences and business will be maintained. As always, please slow down and use extreme caution when traveling through road work areas. Follow posted safety and detour signs as well as directions from onsite traffic control.
