The Barnstable Police Department is proud to announce the promotion of Thomas Edwards and Anthony D’Angelo to the rank of Sergeant.
Sgt. Thomas Edwards, a lifelong resident of the town, has been a sworn member of the Barnstable Police Department since 2011. Sgt. Edwards is assigned to the patrol division, and previously served as a background investigator, as well as a member of the Cape Cod Regional Law Enforcement Council SWAT team. Sgt. Edwards is currently a field training officer and has been the liaison for new police candidates while they are attending the police academy. Sgt. Edwards recently graduated from the University of Massachusetts Lowell with a Master’s Degree in Criminal Justice. Sgt. Edwards will be assigned as a supervisor of the patrol division.
Sgt. Anthony D’Angelo, a lifelong resident of Cape Cod, has been a sworn member of the Barnstable Police Department since 2016. Sgt. D’Angelo is assigned to the patrol division, and is currently a field training officer, and a defensive tactics instructor. In addition, he is an active member of the Cape Cod Regional Law Enforcement Council SWAT team. Sgt. D’Angelo is also a Master Sergeant in the United States Air Force working as an engineer. Sgt. D’Angelo holds a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from University of Massachusetts Dartmouth. Sgt. D’Angelo will also be assigned as a supervisor of the patrol division.
