(Hyannis, MA – November 13, 2024) Kick off the holiday season with family and friends at the “Sweetacular Soiree on Gingerbread Lane” at the Harbor Overlook in Hyannis!  This festive, two-day celebration promises sweet fun for all ages, taking place Friday, November 29 and Saturday November 30, 2024, 11:00 am to 3:00 pm.

Gingerbread Lane Attractions and Nearby Festivities
Gather your loved ones and explore a wonderland of holiday cheer on Gingerbread Lane! Enjoy festive treats, holiday décor, and interactive activities for kids and adults alike. And don’t stop there – make a day of it by exploring nearby holiday events and attractions just steps away:

Support 16 local creatives and find something hand-made, designed or crafted by Cape Cod artists.

Purchase sweet and savory croissants, butternut squash and apple soup + other sweet treats & hot drinks from The Mariner Cafe.

VISIT WITH SANTA:
The jolly guy himself, direct from the North Pole, is excited to meet and greet all visitors on Friday and Saturday from 11:30pm to 2:30pm. AND Special story-time treat with Santa as he reads, “The Night Before Christmas” at Noon and 2:15pm each day.

 

TREVOR THE JUGGLER  PERFORMANCES:
Entertaining for visitors of all ages! Free outdoor shows. Trevor brings world-class visually spectacular juggling skills and silly antics to Gingerbread Lane in a friendly and engaging performance for the whole family!  Be amazed as cutting-edge skills illuminate creative possibilities within object manipulation…and creative possibilities within yourself!  Shows run approximately 8 to 10 minutes, with a 5-minute meet and greet /photo op after each show.  Show times are both Friday and Saturday:
11:00am; 11:45am; 12:30pm; 1:15pm; 2:00pm; 2:45pm

 

FAMILY FUN GAME ZONE with Shipyard Boulders:
Fun for all ages, play all your favorite outdoor games for FREE!
Get your body moving and challenge your mind. Special this weekend, challenge your family and friends to earn discounts if you wish to purchase some games to have for your December holiday celebrations.

 

12 DAYS OF ELFMAS!

Step inside this shanty and see magical & friendly cut out elves busy at work!
From making toys and setting up trees, it is the perfect smile spot for photos, in an elf hat if you wish! The elves are so silly and have misplaced some of the hats.

MODEL TRAIN DISPLAY!

All Aboard!  The Cape Cod Model RR Club & Museum has a shanty train display for viewing fun! With two unique small-scale layouts traveling along three different tracks. Learn about the Club’s offerings for kids and adults.

LIBRARY STORY SHANTY:

Journey to the North Pole with Marstons Mills and Hyannis Public Libraries on the Polar Express! Explore the shanty smile spot of Chris Van Allsburg’s modern Christmas classic. Great smile spot and help yourself to some free library books and craft from your friends at Hyannis and Marstons Mills Public Libraries.

 

HOLIDAY GREENS WITH HYANNIS COUNTRY GARDENS:
Holiday greens, wreaths, and festive holiday arrangements for sale! Plus special coupons for additional items and wide tree selection at the West Main Street store.

 

WISHING WEB:
Woven into place by magical fairy spiders (a/k/a artist Mellissa Morris) these site specific webs are an interactive collaborative community public art installation in conjunction with Gingerbread Lane’s New Woodland Creature Display.  Participants will gather ribbon from the magical mailbox and weave into the web while making wishes, dreams, and intentions of unlocking magic.

 

LIVE MUSIC

Get your jingle jams on with holiday tunes and more! Warm up those holiday vibes with Northern Lights Lite, the acoustic duo featuring Wendy Kaiser Smith & Stephen Smith with a festive collection of songs to keep you singing and smiling while you stroll through the Harbor Overlook on 11:30am -1:30pm, Friday, November 29, 2024.

PARK AND WALK!
FREE parking steps away in the Barnstable Town Hall Parking Lot.  Walk through the Hyannis Village Green along the Walkway-to-the-Sea to the Harbor Overlook. Additional Public Parking Lots are steps away from Main Street! Town Hall, South and North Street parking lots – FREE, up to six hours.  Ocean St. & Bismore Park lots are metered.

 

ABOUT GINGERBREAD LANE:
Gingerbread Lane at the Harbor Overlook is decorated with whimsy gingerbread decor and woodland critters, each November – February. There are colorful candies, icing, cookie shutters and gingerbread characters now joined by bunnies, hedgehogs, fox, deer and colorful mushrooms for extra fun memories and holiday pictures with your favorite sweet treats and furry friends.
