The Town of Barnstable will begin construction of the Centerville Village Sewer Expansion Project-North Phase in December 2024. A map of the project is included below. This project marks the third significant sewer expansion project of the Town’s 30-year Comprehensive Wastewater Management Plan.
C.C. Construction, Inc. has been awarded the contract to construct the project. They intend to commence pre-construction activities such as test hole drilling, construction layout, and utility mark-outs in December 2024. Sewer construction is anticipated to commence in January 2025.
This project will expand sewer to properties along the following roadways:
- Route 28, from Phinney’s Lane to Old Stage Road
- Phinney’s Lane, from Route 28 to Main Street, Centerville
- Old Stage Road from Route 28 to Shootflying Hill Road
- Shootflying Hill Road from Old Stage Road to Service Road
The Centerville Village Sewer Expansion Project-North Phase will allow over 200 properties to connect to municipal sewer. The project also includes the installation of three submersible pump stations along the project route. Additionally, this project will make improvements to the roadways adjacent to Mothers Park.
The Town hosted an informational meeting about this project on October 1, 2024, a recording of which can be viewed on Barnstable Government Access. Property owners who are identified as receiving sewer along this project route have been contacted by mail and will be kept informed as construction progresses along the route.
