Intersection Improvements at Attucks Lane and Phinney’s Lane in Barnstable Village
(HYANNIS, MA – October 26, 2023) – Starting the week of Monday, October 30, 2023, a contractor is scheduled to commence upgrades to traffic signal equipment and improve curb ramps and crosswalks at the intersection of Attucks Lane and Phinney’s Lane.
As a result, traffic modifications including temporary lane closures with single-lane alternating traffic, or temporary lane narrowing, are anticipated. At least one travel lane, in each direction, will remain open to traffic at all times during construction. Work is anticipated to be completed by November 30, 2023.
This work is privately funded as part of development requirements for a new apartment complex on Wilkens Lane. The work at Attucks Lane and Phinney’s Lane will improve pedestrian and traffic safety, reduce delays, and increase compliance with accessibility requirements.
