A holiday lights recycling drive in partnership with the town transfer stations is underway. All 15 Cape towns’ Transfer stations will be collecting used, unwanted, or broken holiday string lights through the end of January 2022. The lights will be recycled at a local scrap metal facility.
String lights typically contain copper, glass and plastic, which can be recycled or reclaimed.
* * The Barnstable Transfer Station requires a sticker or per visit fee to recycle.
