The Town of Barnstable Department of Public Works is scheduled to install stop signs at the intersection of School Street and Piney Road/Highland Avenue in Cotuit. This work will create an all-way stop at the intersection of School Street and Piney Road/Highland Avenue. Currently, stop signs are already in place on the Piney Road and Highland Avenue approaches to this intersection. In addition, advance warning signs and pavement markings will be installed. These modifications are intended to improve traffic safety at this intersection. Temporary lane closures on School Street are anticipated to safely complete the work. As always, please slow down and use extreme caution when traveling through road construction areas, and follow posted safety and detour signs.
