Cape Cod Gateway Airport (HYA), is thrilled to announce the return of Southern Airways Express. The airline plans to fly nonstop to Nantucket Memorial Airport (ACK). The airline will serve our region starting with daily flights to/from Nantucket and the potential for other routes in the future. Flight times are being finalized now with a planned June 16, 2022 start.

According to Airport Manager, Katie Servis, “This is perfect timing for Southern Airways Express flights to begin again at Cape Cod Gateway Airport. This will provide fast and easy air service to the center of Cape Cod for visitors, residents, and business travelers and just in time for the busy summer season. We will notify the public as soon as the tickets are for sale.”

“Southern Airways is happy to announce our return to the Hyannis-Nantucket market, effective Thursday June 16, 2022, with four daily roundtrips from Cape Cod Gateway Airport to Nantucket Memorial Airport,” said Mark Cestari, Chief Commercial Officer for Southern Airways. “The new flights will be operated in roomy Cessna Caravan turboprop aircraft which feature, large windows, roomy interiors, plenty of cargo space for large items and two-pilot operation on all flights. One-way fares on the quick 22-minute flights will begin at $99.00 each way.”

“Southern will offer four roundtrip flights Monday through Friday and three on Saturday and Sunday,” said Cestari. “In addition to offering a fast and easy alternative to the ferry, Southern will offer special fares for Cape businesses commuting their team members to busy Nantucket. Southern has consistently been one of the most reliable and on time airlines in the industry, with a completion factor typically better than 99%.”

Additionally, JetBlue is returning to HYA for their 8th season of service, beginning May 26, 2022. Daily flights are scheduled to arrive from New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) at 3:13pm and depart to JFK at 4:51pm (schedule subject to change). Worldwide connections beyond JFK are available on Jet Blue’s partner airlines, including Aer Lingus, American Airlines, Cape Air/Nantucket Airways, Emirates, Hawaiian Airlines, Icelandair, Qatar Airlines, and Southern African Airways. The airline will be flying E190’s with 100 seats in and out of HYA.
