The Town of Barnstable has made some changes to its tax work-off program. In addition to eligible seniors, eligible veterans can now participate in the program. Eligible seniors and veterans can perform work for the town in exchange for an abatement on their property taxes up to $1,500. If anyone is interested in the program the application will be available on the town’s website under Assessing and Human Resources. Any questions on eligibility can be directed to the Assessing office by calling 508-862-4022. Questions regarding the type of work available can be directed to Human Resources by calling 508-862-4694.
