From artist shanties, Shakespeare Under the Stars and ukulele concerts to West African Drum Circles, Tai Chi, Zumba, live music, museums, baseball games under the lights and strolling the mile long Main Street with over 40 restaurants and plenty of shopping, there is something to satisfy everyone’s interests and tastes in the downtown Hyannis HyArts Cultural District this summer.
HYANNIS HYARTS ARTIST SHANTIES:
The Hyannis HyArts Artist Shanties are open for the 2024 season. Discover new faces and artwork as artists change weekly throughout the season. A must stop on the Walkway-to-the Sea, discover Cape Cod artists working and selling hand-made, crafted and designed wares in two shanty locations: Harbor Overlook at 51 Ocean Street and Bismore Park at 180 Ocean Street, Hyannis.
With over 85 artists participating in this year’s HyArts Artist Shanty program, it is the perfect opportunity to shop local and support the creative economy. Artwork includes a variety of media, from ceramics, mosaics, and wood turning to fiber art, paintings, jewelry and more. Don’t neglect those rumbling tummies while you stroll Hyannis’s working waterfront, the Harbor Overlook Snack Shack features pop-up food vendors throughout the season for you to grab a quick bite.
ABOUT THE ARTIST SHANTY PROGRAM: The Town-run Hyannis HyArts Artist Shanty program provides affordable rental space for Cape Cod artists and artisans to work and sell at these “seaside studios”.
