Comprehensive Wastewater Management Plan (CWMP) Sewer Expansion Project

The Strawberry Hill Road and Route 28 East Sewer Expansion Projects are ongoing with construction schedule update as outlined below.

We get it, changing traffic patterns and moving work zones can be frustrating. Please be patient as construction plans are fluid. Changes to active construction locations are dependent on multiple factors including weather. The best way to stay informed on changing traffic patterns is by reviewing real-time road closures and detours via the Waze App or directly on browser-based Waze Live Map located at: https://www.waze.com/live-map

Week of 3/20/23 to 3/24/23

  • Sewer Main Installation

Sewer main installation will progress along the southern portion of Phinney’s Lane from Pond Street to Tellegen Trail. Phinney’s Lane will remain closed to thru traffic, from Route 28 to Strawberry Hill Road, as shown in Figure 1. All closed roadways will remain open to local resident and emergency traffic only.

  • Sewer Lateral Installation

Sewer lateral installation will continue on Phinney’s Lane, just north of Sunny Wood Drive, leaving stubs for each property for future connection. Additionally, installation of side road laterals will be ongoing between Longview Drive and Regatta Drive. This work will be occurring within the Phinney’s Lane road closure, from Strawberry Hill Road to Route 132, as shown in Figure 1. Residents are encouraged to follow the existing signage posted at the end of each roadway, directing traffic away from the advancing work zone.

  • Sewer Pump Station

Sewer pump station work will continue at 528 Craigville Beach Road and 1456 Falmouth Road/ Route 28. No roadway impacts are anticipated.

If you have any questions or wish to receive project updates, please contact Kelly Collopy, Communications Manager, at the Department of Public Works at 508-790-6400 or Kelly.Collopy@town.barnstable.ma.us.
